PETALING JAYA: Local actor AC Mizal (pic) has withdrawn his application for the custody of his children.

Syariah Judge Abu Zaky Mohamad allowed the withdrawal after AC’s lawyer Siti Aishah Din informed the Syariah High Court yesterday of her client’s wish.

The proceedings to hear the actor’s application were supposed to start yesterday.

Siti Aishah told the court that her client was withdrawing his application as he could not commit to court appearances due to his busy schedule.

When met outside the court, Siti Aishah said her client did not want to create problems for other parties if he could not commit to appearing in court.

“We will be concentrating on the case in Kajang where AC’s ex-wife Shafnie Zainuddin is applying to change the court order for the children’s maintenance,” she added

Both AC and Shafnie were absent from court yesterday.

The actor, whose real name is Mizal Zaini, hosts local

talent reality television show Akademi Fantasia.

The couple who married on June 24, 1995 were divorced on Oct 17, 2001.

They have two children, Muhammad Shafiq Iman, 12, and Muhammad Shabil Iman, 9.
